We often sell ourselves short.
Instead of using our words to inspire others… we hold them back.
Why? Because we’re afraid of being vulnerable.
We’re afraid of sharing who we are. We’re afraid to share ourselves.
We’re afraid to share our story.
I saw an article recently that said people are hesitant to become great storytellers for the following reasons:
They don’t want to define themselves.
They don’t want to sound arrogant.
They want to sound real without the fake emotion.
To me, it sounds like they’re clamoring to be authentic. They want others to see the real “them.”
And we get this, right? We all want people to see us — even though that’s what we’re absolutely most afraid of.
What is holding you back from telling your story?
👉 Are you fearful of being seen as a bragger?
👉 Do you want to express the real you — but can’t find the words?
👉 Or maybe you are just hesitant to share anything personal because you wonder what others would think?
I get it. Being vulnerable — in all these areas — is difficult for all of us.
But, what’s the alternative? If you don’t share yourself and your story — do your potential customers lose out?
Maybe you’re the only one who can solve their most pressing problems. That’s why you’re in business right?
Instead of focusing on you, put your energy into focusing on them. Sharing your story is more important than your hesitation.
You have people to help. That’s why you do what you do.

The AI Project Podcast
I love a good interview.
I see it as an art. It’s one of the things that I enjoy most.
Because it gives me the chance to be vulnerable—and help the person I’m interviewing do the same.
People always tell me how I make them comfortable.
Which brings me to this… ⬇️
We’ve also discussed a lot about Story Archaeology during the Summer of Story campaign this year.
Today, I’m putting my own spin on Story Exploring.
I’m starting a new 5-part podcast series tentatively titled, “The AI Project.”
I’m looking to interview experts in a variety of industries, including:
✅ Accounting and Auditing
✅ Communications and Marketing
✅ Government
✅ Information Technology and Security
If this sounds like something you’re interested in—or know anyone who might be—please DM me. Join me as we tell the story of AI.
God bless.
