Let me get a little personal with you here.
I grew up Catholic, but like many I fell away in college.
I was agnostic at best. Never really went full athetist though.
One day, God got my attention.
I was working at a job in Philadelphia that I didn’t love. I longed to do something more significant with my life and knew this wasn’t for me.
I was on a lunch time walk when I passed a Catholic church. Something pulled me to go in.
I sat in the back. And after a few moments, I cried. I felt like I came home.
Not longer after, I was on the altar reading for this noon time service a few days per week.
My faith grew and my wife helped lead me to the Orthodox Christian faith (which she had been since college).
I knew I wanted my family to have the same faith, so I eventually converted.
Fast forward to today - and I’m helping build an Orthodox Church in my area in Central PA. I’m in a leadership role and also serving during Sundays with my son on our makeshift altar.
It’s one of the favorite stories of my life. And one of continual inspirtation and wonder.
Side Hustle Tip: Find Ways To Lead With Faith
Why do I tell you this?
Well, look, whether you’re a religious or spiritual person or not - I hope you can see a takeaway here.
I stepped out in faith. Sure, it happened to be in a “faith” setting: church.
But, how is stepping out in faith different in starting a side hustle?
As a Christian, I believe our desire to create comes from our Creator. So, it’s only natural we want to build something that helps our families - and even exists long after we’re gone.
What does that mean for you?
It means go try something.
Go test an idea.
Reach out to 10 potential clients.
Add value to the world and your community with your talents.
Be a person who serves, not one who expects to be served.
Despite your limiting beliefs, you do have value to offer. Don’t let your biggest critic - YOURSELF - convince you otherwise.
Start today. Be a side hustle leader. For yourself and your family.

Growth Tip: Come From A Place of Service
When we’re starting in business (or anything really), oftentimes we’re so focused on our own next steps.
And it’s only natural. We want to do well - and if you’re like me - you get obsesses about “how to grow this thing.”
But, I want to encourage you this week to hit pause on that mode.
Instead, come from a place of service. Look at how you can help someone else on their journey.
Maybe it’s a customer. Maybe it’s a potential competitor. Maybe it’s just another person doing something that can’t repay it to you.
It doesn’t matter. True growth comes from humility and realizing you should put yourself last in all situations.
Do that - consciously do it - and you’ll be rewarded.
You’ll have the satisfaction - continued satisfaction - of knowing you’re helping others. And you’ll find your side hustle grows simply from referrals of others you’ve helped.
Try it today. Then, a week, Then, a month. Then, maybe, the rest of 2023.
See where you are by January 1, 2024.
That’s it for this week. I appreciate you checking it out.
Will you do me a favor and share this with your friends and family who might benefit?
